Mark 1:1 & 14-15
The beginning of the good news about Jesus the Messiah, the Son of God.
After John was put in prison, Jesus went into Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God. “The time has come,” he said. “The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!”
Matthew and Luke begin their Gospels with the birth of Jesus. John starts with going back even further, into the pre-existence of the eternal Word. St Mark jumps in with the Jesus' baptism, his temptation and the proclamation that the time has come for the Kingdom of God.
How many of us believe that the time is right for the Kingdom of God right now. Do we not need the Kingship of Jesus? You bet we do.
How do we play our part?
How about living in ways that point to Jesus.
How about asking for the Holy Spirit to work in and through us.
How about we just Find One.
Lord Jesus, we give thanks that you ate sovereign. We give thanks that you are the King of Kings. Amen. Amen. Amen.
