2 Corinthians 1:3-5
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all consolation, who consoles us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to console those who are in any affliction with the consolation with which we ourselves are consoled by God. For just as the sufferings of Christ are abundant for us, so also our consolation is abundant through Christ.
Reflection. Paul and his companions have been suffering. Yet, he has learned a great truth. He has learned that God is the God of all consolation. And there is more here; namely, that those who have received consolation are able ro bring God's consolation to others who are in travail. This all comes about because the sufferings of Jesus are abundant for us. It is amazing. We are consoled and can console others because of the sufferings of Jesus.
Prayer. Thank you Jesus for being my consolation. Amen.
