"Jesus and his disciples went on to the villages around Caesarea Philippi. On the way he asked them, “Who do people say I am?” They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, one of the prophets.” “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” Peter answered, “You are the Messiah.” Jesus warned them not to tell anyone about him.
Reflection. Years ago a wise person taught me that you have very little chance of getting the correct answer unless you ask the right question. St Peter is asked the right question and it leads to the right answer. "You are the Messiah."
Perhaps over the coming year we will have the opportunity to ask just one person the right question, "who do you say Jesus is?" My prayer will be that the someone answers for the very first time, "he is my Lord and my God." To Find One may be as simple as asking the right question at the right time - guided by the Holy Spirit.
Prayer. Lord Jesus, I declare that you are the Messiah, my Lord and my God. Amen.
