Acts 2:43-47 NIV
Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.
Reflection. Jesus had commanded his disciples to love one another. He said that if we loved one another then the world would know that we are his disciples. Our passage witnesses to worship and to sharing all of resources between them. They engaged in breaking bread and their glad and generous hearts were noticed.
What was the outcome of their togetherness? God added to their number...daily. Daily! Our Circuit vision is not that we each Find One on a daily basis. No, just that we each Find One in the next year or so. What part will our life together play in that. I wonder whether, if we share resources as the cost of living crisis bites, it will be noticed?
Prayer. Help us, Lord Jesus, to be profligate with the resources you give us. Amen.
