Forgiven. Scripture, reflection and thanksgiving.

Psalm 32:1-5

Blessed is the one whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Blessed is the one whose sin the LORD does not count against them and in whose spirit is no deceit. When I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long. For day and night your hand was heavy on me; my strength was sapped as in the heat of summer. Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the LORD.” And you forgave the guilt of my sin.

Reflection.

We live in a world where simply saying sorry seems to have gone out of the window. As if admitting that we have made mistakes is a sign of weakness. Well, it isn't! Expecially with regard to our relationship with God.

Let's be clear about this. We are in need of  forgiveness, serious need of forgiveness. The psalmist has come to know how blessed we are to be forgiven. To be bowed down by our sins is a terrible thing. Blessed is the one whose sins are forgiven. 

Thanksgiving. 

Thank you Lord for forgiving me. Help me to be open to confessing my sins to you. Help me to know the blessing of forgiveness. Help me to be gracious and forgiving to others. Amen.​
