1 Corinthians 1:4-9
I give thanks to my God always for you because of the grace of God that has been given you in Christ Jesus, for in every way you have been enriched in him, in speech and knowledge of every kind-- just as the testimony of Christ has been strengthened among you-- so that you are not lacking in any gift as you wait for the revealing of our Lord Jesus Christ. He will also strengthen you to the end, so that you may be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful, by whom you were called into the partnership of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
Reflection. Starting with thanksgiving, St Paul moves onto grace that has been given to the Corinthians in Jesus, and then reminds them of all the benefits of grace and of knowing Jesus. These benefits are amazing: they are enriched, strengthened and will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Now, why not apply these benefits to ourselves and then receive such a deep blessing. If you feel that is a stretch, I invite you to look at verse 2 of the chapter (Google 1 Corinthians 1:2) and notice the letter is not only to the church in Corinth....
Prayer. Lord Jesus, thank you the greatest blessing of all; thank you that you love me to the uttermost. Amen.
