Historic! Scripture, reflection and prayer.

Psalm 102:17-22
​
17 He will respond to the prayer of the destitute; he will not despise their plea. 
18 Let this be written for a future generation, that a people not yet created may praise the LORD: 
19 “The LORD looked down from his sanctuary on high, from heaven he viewed the earth, 
20 to hear the groans of the prisoners and release those condemned to death.” 
21 So the name of the LORD will be declared in Zion and his praise in Jerusalem 
22 when the peoples and the kingdoms assemble to worship the LORD.

Reflection. 'A people not yet created may praise the LORD.' This is an amazing thought; Those not yet conceived or born will join us in praise of the LORD. God hears the prayers of the destitute and does not depise them. God looks on them with great love. God hears the prisoners' groans; God sets free those facing death. 

When we hear of the great works of God for those most in need, we should be full of praise! Oh, and maybe we might be prompted to join in and serve the most needy.

Prayer. Lord Jesus, may we gather together in worship, and then move outwards and serve our communities in your name. Amen.
