Philippians 2:1-5 "If then there is any encouragement in Christ, any consolation from love, any sharing in the Spirit, any compassion and sympathy, make my joy complete: be of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility regard others as better than yourselves. Let each of you look not to your own interests, but to the interests of others. Let the same mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus"
Reflection. People in the church share a common unity because we are all in Christ. Paul now wants us to express this in the way we think, in the way we love, in the way we act, and to be of one mind. Paul calls us to look to the needs of others. Finally, we must have the mind that is the mind of Jesus himself. Wow! If you want to know what that mind is like, then wait for tomorrow!
Anyway, I invite us to look again at today's passage and to reflect upon it in the light of local needs, family needs and Ukrainian needs.
Prayer. Lord Jesus, please send the Holy Spirit that my way of being would be as yours. For without the Holy Spirit such love is beyond my comprehension, let alone my actions. May you be glorified. Amen.
