Love incomparable. Scripture, reflection and thanksgiving.
Song of Solomon 8:6-7
Set me as a seal upon your heart, as a seal upon your arm; for love is strong as death, passion fierce as the grave. Its flashes are flashes of fire, a raging flame. Many waters cannot quench love, neither can floods drown it. If one offered for love all the wealth of his house, it would be utterly scorned.
Reflection. These two verses are sometimes uses at weddings. The description of love is amazing. Love is powerful and passionate, floods cannot quench its fire and you wouldn't even swap all one's wealth for it. You would scorn and offer of money in place of love.
The book is sometimes thought of as a description of Jesus's love for his bride, the church. Well, we know that Jesus's love is incomparable, that his love is as strong as death, stronger actually. Not even death can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus.
Thanksgiving. Lord Jesus, thank you for love, for your love for your bride. Amen
