Love. Scripture, reflection and prayer.

1 Thessalonians 2:5-8
"Never once did we try to win you with flattery, as you well know. And God is our witness that we were not pretending to be your friends just to get your money! As for human praise, we have never sought it from you or anyone else. As apostles of Christ we certainly had a right to make some demands of you, but instead we were like children among you. Or we were like a mother feeding and caring for her own children. We loved you so much that we shared with you not only God’s Good News but our own lives, too." NLT

"You know we never used flattery, nor did we put on a mask to cover up greed—God is our witness. We were not looking for praise from people, not from you or anyone else, even though as apostles of Christ we could have asserted our authority. Instead, we were like young children among you. Just as a nursing mother cares for her children, so we cared for you. Because we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well." NIV

Reflection.  Dwell with me for a moment on the depth of love that Paul and his companions, Timothy and.Silvanus, have for their friends in the church in Thessolonica. They loved them so much that they shared themselves alongside sharing the Gospel. They weren't 'hit and run' evangelists. They loved the people with whom they shared the Good News of God. 

What obvious example is there here for us as we seek to Find One? We ought to build loving relationships with people as we share the Gospel. Can we give of ourselves in such a wholehearted way. We'll need the help of the Holy Spirit with this.

Prayer. Come Holy Spirit and help me to love. In Jesus's name. Amen.
