Song of Solomon 1:2-4
2Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth!
For your love is better than wine,
3your anointing oils are fragrant,
your name is perfume poured out;
therefore the maidens love you.
4Draw me after you, let us make haste.
The king has brought me into his chambers.
We will exult and rejoice in you;
we will extol your love more than wine;
rightly do they love you.
Reflection. This poem is not for prudes. It is as much a 'lust' story as it is a 'love' poem. Anyone who suggests that God is against sex has not read the Bible. In Scripture, sex has its place in a loving relationship. It is to be delighted in in that place of love and security. It is a special gift from God. It is not to be abused, but cherished.
Take the time today to read this complete poem. A poem of two people who love and fancy one another like mad. They are prepared to let their friends and family know of their love.
Prayer. Thank you, Lord God, for the gift of love between couples. And thank you that your banner over us is love. Amen.
