Not ashamed. Scripture, reflection and prayer.

Romans 1:16-17

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile. For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”

Reflection. St Paul was not ashamed of the Good News of Jesus. We, too, need not be ashamed. Jesus is Good News for the whole world the whole of the time. Jesus is Good News for right now, for this moment, for today. One older translation adds that the Good News, the Gospel, is the power to save nations. Not politicians, not ideologies. No, salvation power for nations is found in and through Jesus. Let's be shameless as we Find One!
