This is the disciple who is testifying to these things and has written them, and we know that his testimony is true. But there are also many other things that Jesus did; if every one of them were written down, I suppose that the world itself could not contain the books that would be written.
Reflection. John's reflection, that not enough could ever be written about Jesus, is mind blowing. And yet, is it. If we accept that Jesus is the Word, if we accept that Jesus is the author and perfector of our faith, if we accept these things, then how could all the other words available ever be enough?
So, here’s another thought.
Maybe very few words are necessary.
Maybe we should kneel in silent awe.
Maybe we only need to say Jesus is Lord.
Prayer. Silence. Awesome wonder. Amen. Amen. Amen.
