Parenting. Scripture, reflection and prayer.

Isaiah 1:1-3

The vision concerning Judah and Jerusalem that Isaiah son of Amoz saw during the reigns of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz and Hezekiah, kings of Judah.
2 Hear me, you heavens! Listen, earth! For the LORD has spoken: “I reared children and brought them up, but they have rebelled against me.
3 The ox knows its master, the donkey its owner’s manger, but Israel does not know, my people do not understand.”
Reflection.  I wonder how much this resonates for some parents. God has poured out love upon Israel and Israel has rebelled.  Anyone had teenagers do that? How many parents think their children don't understand them. Well, be encouraged. God knows exactly how that feels. God knows how much pain it beings. God relates with us. God understands. That brings hope, surely.

Prayer. Thank you, Lord God, for understanding our struggles. We hold before you all those parents who are struggling this day. Amen.
