When we arrived at Jerusalem, the brothers and sisters received us warmly. The next day Paul and the rest of us went to see James, and all the elders were present. Paul greeted them and reported in detail what God had done among the Gentiles through his ministry.
When they heard this, they praised God. Then they said to Paul: “You see, brother, how many thousands of Jews have believed, and all of them are zealous for the law.
Reflection. How do we react when someone comes along and tells us that God is doing amazing things in their Christian community; when we hear of the miracle of people coming to faith, many people coming to faith and their church growing. How do we react?
The temptation is sometimes towards doubting the story, jealousy or envy. Yet, the example above is that when the leaders in Jerusalem heard good news about growth, they praised God. Let's rejoice as we begin to hear of churches growing, of people coming to faith as we set about 'Find(ing) One.'
Prayer. May we rejoice as we hear of and see you at work. For the glory of the name of Jesus. Amen.
