1 Thessalonians 1:7-10
"And so you became a model to all the believers in Macedonia and Achaia. The Lord’s message rang out from you not only in Macedonia and Achaia—your faith in God has become known everywhere. Therefore we do not need to say anything about it, for they themselves report what kind of reception you gave us. They tell how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God, and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead—Jesus, who rescues us from the coming wrath."
Reflection. The church in Thessalonica had an enviable reputation. They heard the Gospel and received it and shared it so well that they had a reputation that spread across national borders. Their faith was known.
In Ephesians, St Paul uses a term about God's people from which we get the word 'poem.' God writes his story through us. I wonder what people read when they read us. Wouldn't it be wonderful if our story of faith was spread abroad like that of the Thessalonians. Not for our glory, but for Jesus's sake and name. You might have noticed how Paul is clear that the change in their lives is because of Jesus. Amazing.
Prayer. Lord Jesus, this day when people see me that they will see you written 'full clear on every page. Amen.
