Luke 6:27-30 " “But I say to you that listen, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you. If anyone strikes you on the cheek, offer the other also; and from anyone who takes away your coat do not withhold even your shirt. Give to everyone who begs from you; and if anyone takes away your goods, do not ask for them again. Do to others as you would have them do to you."
Reflection. I was the victim of a scam yesterday - responding to a text about Covid and then inputting some details...so, have had to sort things with the bank et al. I'll have to be more aware in future.
Why is it that a just such a moment, when angry and upset, that the Holy Spirit points us to Scriptures like these. Scammers are doing something nasty and underhand. Yet, they are just as loved by God as we are. Jesus died for them as well as for us. Guess who is feeling challenged at the moment. How do we balance mercy and justice?
Prayer. Lord Jesus, have mercy on me, a sinner. Amen
