Hosea 2:21-23 NIV
“In that day I will respond,” declares the LORD— “I will respond to the skies, and they will respond to the earth; and the earth will respond to the grain, the new wine and the olive oil, and they will respond to Jezreel. I will plant her for myself in the land; I will show my love to the one I called ‘Not my loved one.’ I will say to those called ‘Not my people,’ ‘You are my people’; and they will say, ‘You are my God.’ ”
In Hosea chapter 1 we read of our God being so hurt by Israel that he has Hosea take a prostitute as his wife and to name their children as 'unloved' and 'not my people.' This was to be a lived out experience of how God was feeling. God has been hurt and hurt and hurt as his Chosen People had played the field with other gods.
Yet, God is faithful and can never abandon his people. Thanks be to God that he does on abandon us...despite how we are. God is love!
Praise be to you, O God, for saving me. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
