Restoration. Scripture, reflection and prayer.

Hosea 1:10-11

Yet the Israelites will be like the sand on the seashore, which cannot be measured or counted. In the place where it was said to them, ‘You are not my people,’ they will be called ‘children of the living God.’ The people of Judah and the people of Israel will come together; they will appoint one leader and will come up out of the land, for great will be the day of Jezreel.

Reflection. I didn't want to go with the first main part of the chapter: Hosea is commanded by God to marry a prostitute so that he can understand how God feels about Israel 'going' with other God's. Just too dark!

So, wonder for a moment at our God, who,  having been greatly hurt, still promises complete restoration for those who caused he hurt! That is grace and love.

Now wonder for a moment at our God who forgives us, who have caused great hurt by our personal and corporate sinfulness. He meets all our needs in Jesus. That is grace and love.

Prayer. Lord God Almighty, we thank you for your grace and love. Thank you for Jesus. Amen.
