Colossians 3:1-4 NIV
Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
Christ is risen, and we have been raised along with him. We were dead and now our lives are hidden and safely secure with God. Do we live with the confidence that being raised and hidden offers and garauntees? Were do I set my mind? I know I set my mind more often 'on earthly things' than I ought to. How do we balance being so heavenly mined that we are no earthly good? Yet, I know that when I focus on Christ Jesus, I find that the earthly matters take on a less problematic hue. Oh, and I haven't even mentioned the future hope in the passage...
Lord Jesus, help me to keep you in focus all the more. In your name. Amen.
