In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. So he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs.
The writer of Hebrews had no doubt as to whom Jesus is! He knows Jesus as the agent of creation; the radiance of God's glory; the exact representation of God and superior to the angels.
The writer of Hewbrews has no doubt as to what Jesus has done! He has purified us of our sins and now sits at God's right hand.
The writer to the Hebrews has no doubt that Jesus has the name above all names.
Do we have such certainty? As an act of will, let's choose to know the Jesus the writer to the Hebrews knows.
Prayer. Lord Jesus, name above all names, King of Kings, we worship you and we acknowledge you greatness. Amen.
