Psalm 1 "Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the LORD, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers. Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to destruction."
Reflection. Did you notice three things that the
blessed one does not do?
Does not walk in step with the wicked.
Does not go the way of sinners.
Does not sit with those who mock.
Did you notice what the blessed one Does?
Delights in God's law.
Meditates on the God's law.
And the result for God's people is to be like a well-rooted and watered tree. Fruit is produced. The tree does not wither.
Might I ask that 2022 becomes for us a Christ-centred year. A year where we concentrate on the Word made flesh and on His word written. Perhaps we might delight in and meditate on Jesus. Might I also ask that we look to find just one person who does not yet know Jesus and bring about an introduction. Find one...
Prayer. Lord Jesus, you are my delight. I long to know more of you in 2022. Amen.
