Seeking. Scripture, reflection and prayer.

Psalms 63:1-5 NIV​

You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water. I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory. Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands. I will be fully satisfied as with the richest of foods; with singing lips my mouth will praise you.

Reflection. 

Do we earnestly seek God? Do we thirst and long for God with our whole being? Have we 'seen' God, or beheld Him, and have we noticed His power and glory? Are we driven to praise when we recognise that God's love is better than life itself? These are the reactions of the psalmist, King David when he was hiding in the wilderness of Judah. That is quite amazing isn't it! David is reflecting on the goodness and wonder of God when David's own life was at a low ebb. 

It won't surprise you that I delight in the words of being satisfied with the richest of foods! 

Prayer. 

Lord Jesus, help me to seek your face at all times. Send your Holy Spirit that I might delight in you. Guide me to a place of praise. Amen.
