Philippians 1:15-18 " It is true that some preach Christ out of envy and rivalry, but others out of goodwill. The latter do so out of love, knowing that I am put here for the defence of the gospel. The former preach Christ out of selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing that they can stir up trouble for me while I am in chains. But what does it matter? The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. And because of this I rejoice.Yes, and I will continue to rejoice,"
Reflection. Does this passage make you smile. It ought to. The Gospel of Jesus is being preached. It is even being preached by Paul's enemies. These are seeking to 'stir up trouble' for the Saint. Paul sees the bigger picture. What matters is that 'Christ is preached.' Paul is all about Find(ing) One. He even delights when the Good News being preached might drop him in it. He rejoices.
Let's create an attitude of rejoicing as we see others sharing Christ Jesus. How about rejoicing as we see folk, we are not keen on, sharing the Good News.
Prayer. Lord Jesus, may we rejoice to see you 'preached.' Amen.
