Psalms 57:7-11 NIV
My heart, O God, is steadfast, my heart is steadfast; I will sing and make music. Awake, my soul! Awake, harp and lyre! I will awaken the dawn. I will praise you, Lord, among the nations; I will sing of you among the peoples. For great is your love, reaching to the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies. Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let your glory be over all the earth.
What a great phrase to describe a heart of praise: 'I will awaken the dawn.' When can we ever say that our hearts were so overflowing with love for the LORD that we would 'awaken the dawn' with our praise? The psalmist is intending to declare his love for God far and wide. The nations are going to hear how great is the psalmist's God. He is full of thanksgiving for the love and faithfulness of God. He 'will awaken the dawn.'
We give you thanks, O Lord, for your goodness to us. May you be exalted in our hearts. May you be exalted in the whole earth. For Jesus's sake. Amen.
