Timing. Scripture, reflection and prayer - 29 Oct

Luke 14:1-6 "On one occasion when Jesus[a] was going to the house of a leader of the Pharisees to eat a meal on the sabbath, they were watching him closely. Just then, in front of him, there was a man who had dropsy. And Jesus asked the lawyers and Pharisees, “Is it lawful to cure people on the sabbath, or not?” But they were silent. So Jesus took him and healed him, and sent him away. Then he said to them, “If one of you has a child or an ox that has fallen into a well, will you not immediately pull it out on a sabbath day?” And they could not reply to this"

Reflection.  Timing is really important.  When David Gower played cricket for England, he could make batting look so easy.  He hardly seemed to hit the ball and yet it would race to the boundary.  Commentators spoke of his 'timing.'
Timing is really important. A teacher once told me that the significance of a mistake is directly proportional to the number of importance of the people who see it.

Timing is sometimes not really important at all.  When is it right to do the right thing with regards to people. ALWAYS! Jesus helps us understand that caring for others trumps rules and regulations. Just be wise so things don't lead to anarchy. Go on going on helping people and loving and caring. There is no limit to the Timing of such holy living.

Prayer. Help us, Lord Jesus, to make time to care. Amen.
