Though the fig tree does not blossom, and no fruit is on the vines; though the produce of the olive fails and the fields yield no food; though the flock is cut off from the fold and there is no herd in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the LORD; I will exult in the God of my salvation. GOD, the Lord, is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, and makes me tread upon the heights.
Reflection. Life is crud for Habakkuk with even food lacking, yet He finds himself rejoicing and trusting the 'God of my salvation.' God is his strength, God sets him safely in the high places; safe and secure. Is this a lesson we need to learn? Do we trust and rejoice when the going gets rough?
Praise. Lord God, the going is tough for our country and its people, some are frightened about food, heating and shelter. Yet, we take this moment to sing your praise and exult your holy name. You are the God of our salvation. In Jesus's name. Amen.
