Matthew 24:32-35 " “Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it is near, right at the door. Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away."
Reflection. We live in an age of mass communication. Indeed, even my little daily offering goes global. This begs the questions about what holds our attention and what influences us. Someone once wrote that if you want to know what you will be like in five years time, then look at whom you associate with now and what you read and watch now. That's really interesting.
Jesus said that His words will never pass away. His words will outlive the earth and the cosmos. If we believe Him, and I know we do, then we really should attend to them. And, I would add that being involved in a Christian community will help us to do that. Gathering with others around the word of God is good!
Prayer. Lord Jesus help me. Help me to grasp the wonder of your words. For your glory in my life, in the church and in the world. Amen.
