Mark 9:2-8 After six days Jesus took Peter, James and John with him and led them up a high mountain, where they were all alone. There he was transfigured before them. His clothes became dazzling white, whiter than anyone in the world could bleach them. And there appeared before them Elijah and Moses, who were talking with Jesus. Peter said to Jesus, “Rabbi, it is good for us to be here. Let us put up three shelters—one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.” (He did not know what to say, they were so frightened.) Then a cloud appeared and covered them, and a voice came from the cloud: “This is my Son, whom I love. Listen to him!” Suddenly, when they looked around, they no longer saw anyone with them except Jesus."
Reflection. Wow! This is not so much a 'mountaintop' moment as it is the most amazing 'wow' moment. Let's put ourselves alongside Peter, James and John for a moment. Let our imaginations take us to a place where we see the transfigured Jesus. And, yes, we might be frightened as these they were, to see Jesus in His heavenly glory. This is our God, the more than Servant King. However as Peter, James and John had no need to fear, neither do we. Jesus loves us, this I know. And not just because the Bible tells me so. I know this, we know this, because we experience this great love every moment of every day. Every moment of our lives is a 'wow' moment with God, in Christ, by the power of the Holy Spirit. Every moment. Especially the grotty ones. We are loved.
The world needs to know this love. We only need to think of One to Find to tell. Well, Find One, for now...
Praise.Thank you Jesus. Amen.
