Thank you to all the churches, charities and community groups that have so far helped to distribute nearly 700 warm packs to households this winter. Many have been given to people who have been struggling with mounting fuel and energy costs but were unable to access a local warm space. For some organisations being able to give out one of these packs has allowed a conversation and connection that has led on to further support being provided. One church was able to take the packs out on pastoral visits and then could give them out to often elderly and isolated people when they saw a need. Several churches filled the thermos flasks up with warm soup for people visiting their warm spaces to take away afterwards. We were surprised by the requests from charities supporting families and not just people living on their own. None of this would have been possible without the support of Plymouth City Council, Devon & Cornwall Police, Aviva Insurance, National Grid and the wonderful people of Plymouth who donated so generously via our Crowdfunder appeal so A GREAT BIG THANK YOU TO EVERYONE INVOLVED!
